See the comment "Double Standard" below? That's from one year ago exactly, reported to us by the sister of an inmate. She said that in the Hockley County Jail, people are treated poorly and conditions are dangerous. Now, here come the inspectors saying the same thing. When will they start treating the people inside like human beings?

A sister of a man in the Hockley County Jail wrote to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards complaining about mistreatment of her brother. At the end of her statement, she made a good point about the staff that applies to many other correctional officers: "They want the inmates to go by rules but I think they should go by their own rules also."
