Lisa Hoyt
Lisa Minjarez Hoyt is the Lead Assistant General Counsel for Food & Nutrition at the Texas Department of Agriculture. She oversees the legal team that represents the Agency in administering 12 federal child nutrition programs, including the National School Lunch Program and Child and Adult Care Food Program. In this role, Lisa makes appearances at the State Office of Administrative Hearings, drafts and reviews contracts, trains employees and the public on F&N matters, and provides general counsel to her clients. Prior to joining TDA, Lisa worked for several years to facilitate personal bonds on behalf of arrested persons in Travis County.
An Austin native, Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts in Government at the University of Texas, and her JD from Texas Tech University.
Lisa supported her brother during his 5-year incarceration and joined the Board of TJP due to her shared interest in the mission to ensure humane treatment of incarcerated persons in county jails.
