Andrew Cobb
Andrew Cobb is Texas Jail Project’s Website Support Specialist. Andrew is a native Houstonian whose experience working with low-income families repairing their homes after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. He and some friends started West Street Recovery out of his home in the Historic 5th Ward, which started with home repairs and grew to be a powerful horizontally run non-profit that empowers local community groups to win campaigns like forty million dollar in COH drainage, and a three billion dollar lawsuit against the state of Texas for discriminatory use of funds after the storm.
Andrew joined Texas Jail Project in the winter of 2023 as a website administrator. Since then he has helped with adding statistics to our noncompliant jail report tracking, supported graphic creation for our online campaigns, and other regular IT needs.
Outside of TJP, Andrew also recently worked as the Assistant Director of San Antonio Bay Estuarine Waterkeeper. Another nonprofit started by our co-founder Diane Wilson. Andrew worked closely with Diane to grow a team that can help carry on Diane’s legacy of fighting corporate fossil fuel polluters.
In his free time he enjoys tending to his garden, spending time with friends, and losing himself in natural landscapes near his home. He is currently living with long-COVID, but is finding ways to contribute to our team when he is healthy.
