Notes and Summary

• During the review of the life safety documentation this inspector found that Jailer Tiffani English did not receive life safety training upon employment as required by minimum jail standards. The administration will ensure all new jailers receive life safety training immediately upon employment as required.
• During the review of the inmate files this inspector found that the inmates in all 7 files reviewed did not sign the property inventory. All jailers will be re-trained regarding the proper documentation of property inventory.
• During the review of the VRSS documentation this inspector found that the facility was not verifying the veteran status of inmates as required by minimum jail standards uilitizing the veteran database.
• During the documentation review this inspector found that an inmate had been housed before the completion of his initial custody assessment.
• During the documentation review this inspector found that Jailer Tiffani English did not receive the required 4 hour classification as required by minimum jail standards as required by minimum jail standards.
• During the review of the officer TCOLE licenses this inspector found that Jailer Tiffani English had been working the floor without a license since 8/1/2016.
• During the review of the staffing documentation this inspector found that the facility did not maintain its 1:48 officer to inmate ratio as required by minimum jail standards due to an unlicensed jailer working the floor.
• During the review of the inmate files this inspector found that inmates were not sigining the necessary documentation acknowledging explanation of the jail’s inmate
