- While reviewing licensing, it was determined that 4 of the 5 jailers have not received the four (4) hours of Objective Jail Classification training as required by minimum jail standards.
- While reviewing inmate files, it was determined that the jail staff are not notifying the magistrate either electronically or in writing as required by Article 16.22 of the Code of Criminal Procedures.
- This inspector observed that the door to the entrance of the jail from the sheriff’s office is still being operated by the dispatch office. The dispatchers do no hold a jailers license and cannot operate secured doors to the jail or in the jail.
- While reviewing the inmate menus, it was determined that the inmate meal menus have not been approved by a licensed dietitian since 2016.
